Slimbridge

SMP has had a long association with Slimbridge and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and were delighted to be called in to supply new temporary office accommodation.

As one of very few suppliers capable of supplying and installing large, open plan office modular buildings SMP has successfully installed an seven bay open plan office completely fitted out to the Trusts specification

Cats

When the Centaur centre aproached SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd to
provide facilities for the cast of Cats it soon became clear that this
was not going to be a typical installation.

Space was at a premium. The cast needed as much as possible but
access to backstage was tight and the ceiling height was low
which meant cranes couldn't be used.

Three Portakabin buildings, two toilet blocks and a shower block all had to be wheeled carefully into position using specialist trolleys designed by SMP.

Vote of confidence

Local Authorities

You need a quality building delivered to an often remote location. Access maybe an issue and delivery must take place at a specific time and date.

For this years local elections Tewkesbury Borough Council and Cherwell, Wyre Forest and Cotswold District Councils all trusted SMP to deliver.

For many years in fact SMP has been supplying cabins to be used as temporary polling stations - All shapes, all sizes, all delivered, installed and collected from both rural and urban locations across the area.

Having the largest independant fleet of buildings, its own specialist delivery vehicles and 25 years installation experience gives local authorities the peace of mind they need. Services

The Royal Mail

The Royal Mail sorting office at Langley near Slough is one of the

largest sorting offices in the country handling International mail. SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd was selected as a preferred supplier to supply portable buildings as site offices during the lengthy commissioning process of this complex facility.

Utilising the full expertise of SMP support services, offices were designed to specific requirements and the Royal Mail also elected to commission SMP to undertake all site preparation including the design and installation of specialist steps and hand rails.

Installation was successfully project managed on site by SMP using its own specialist trailers for large abnormal sized loads with help from specialist partners R.L.C. Transport and Sparrow Crane Hire Ltd.

The Complete Package

Helicopter and Aviation Services Ltd

Helicopter and Aviation Services Ltd run a heliport that operates during the world famous Cheltenham Gold Cup Race Festival.

Working in partnership with SMP, for one week of the year the heliport is created in an area behind the racecourse,covering arrivals and departures lounges as well as ops room, passport control, canteen and a rest room for the flight crew and support ground staff.

With punters spending a considerable amount of money to arrive in style, first impressions are important.

The quality and variety of building that SMP offers makes it an ideal partner for such an event - All the buildings in the SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd fleet being regularly maintained to keep them in tip top condition.

The heliport also graphically illustrates SMP's on site expertise.

Delivery and installation is planned well in advance to make sure tricky site conditions do not interfere with what is a very tight schedule for installation. SMP doesn't cut corners and prides itself on the the quality it installs as well as supplies e.g. interconnecting corridors for buildings are fabricated on site by our own staff to ensure a perfect installation.

Pullman

Rutherford Appleton Laboratory

Two 18m Pullman units were recently installed at Rutherford Appleton Laboratories near Didcot.

A prestige installation, the client turned to SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd as it offered expertise in site logistics and specialist skills for the internal re fitting of the units to an exacting, detailed technical specification.

Both units were completely refit to detailed client plans with new office layouts and upgraded services that included the fitting of CAT5 data cabling with dado trunking throughout, a first for SMP.
