SMP
has had a long association with Slimbridge and
the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and were delighted
to be called in to supply new temporary office accommodation.
As
one of very few suppliers capable of supplying and installing large,
open plan office modular buildings SMP has successfully
installed an seven bay open plan office completely fitted out to
the Trusts specification - One of our largest installations in recent
years.

SMP not blown
off course |
|
Cheltenham
races is always a busy time for SMP and whilst the weather
played havoc with many temporary structures (closing races for one
day) all our cabins stood up to the severe weather test and passed
with flying colours.
Commercial
offices, ticket booths, stores, site offices, airport arrival and
departure lounges, police command headquaters all continued to function
when other structures started to fail - testament to the quality
of building and installation SMP deliver its customers every time.

Big building
specialists |

One
of the many things that sets SMP apart is its ability to supply
large temporary buildings for hire.
If you

A healthy start

has started well for SMP.

SMP hit 27

The
arrival of our latest purchase, a new 40' Titan from Portakabin,
takes the number of portable buildings and stores purchased in 2007
up to 27.
Anti
vandal site offices, steel stores, shower units, welfare units,
genuine Portakabin offices all in poular sizes we are taking enquiries
for week in, week out.
You
really do get more choice with SMP as it continues to invest in
the largest independant fleet of portable buildings for hire in
the area.

SMP help Gloucester
Rugby Club plot premiership success |
|
Gloucester
Rugby Club have recently taken delivery of a large (48') Pullman
Portakabin which will be used as a conference and de briefing suite.
Installed
at the clubs training ground (which forms part of Hartpbury College)
the portable building was especially modified to include an internal
partitioned kitchen area in addition to a large meeting room.
Installation
was project managed by SMP and judging by early results in the Guiness
Premiership, the new suite is certainly doing its job!

SMP to the
rescue again and again and again... |
|
So the
floods in June were'nt a one off event and in fact were just a taster
of what was to come!
Floods
hit most of the area we serve and SMP has swung into action working
closely with chamber of commerces, local authorities and individual
companies in the worst affected areas.
Removal
crates, portable toilets, Genuine Portakabin offices all sizes,
stores all sizes, wheeled units have all been in demand from customers
new and old.
As
the largest independant supplier of portable buildings across the
area (with all our hire fleet stored locally) we continue to meet
the challenge of getting business back to normal as quickly as possible
offering the hallmarks of practical hands on advice, a fast, efficient
service and a quality of hire building second to none.

Dr Loo Saves
the Day! |
|
During
the recent installation of two 40’ Pullman units TRL Technologies
asked if a chemical toilet already on hire from SMP could be moved
to another part of their site.
As we
had a 70 tonne crane complete with 150’ jib already on site,
for double stacking the Pullman cabins – No problem.
Within minutes TRL had its own “toilet tardis” flying
high above the industrial estate much to the amusement of onlookers
who quickly christened it “Dr Loo”.
We’re glad to report that after a short flight, the highest
flying toilet seen in the South West this year landed safely at
its new home - Once again Dr Loo was able to save the day!

Stormova to
the rescue |
|
Stormova
storage crates are always popular never more so than in June this
year when over 950 crates went out on hire to two leading local
companies after flash floods hit Cheltenham.
The
sturdy, easily stacked storage crates, (each capable of holding
the contents of one filing cabinet) came to the rescue as offices
were flooded and both companies needed an immediate solution to
protect and move valuable files, papers and desk contents with minimum
disruption.

All that Jazz! |
|
When
you need to hire a large building not many companies can help and
those that can often have to ship buildings in from far afield at
tremendous cost. Cue SMP the large building specialists.
The
internationally renowned Cheltenham Jazz Festival recently turned
to SMP for help. In need of a quality, large building for hire during
the festival, SMP were able to meet the spec from their locally
stored fleet and arrange transport and installation using their
own specialist vehicle.

SMP helps hockey
club win Sportsmatch grant |
|
Cheltenham
Hockey Club is delighted to announce that with the help of sponsorship
from SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd , the Club has been awarded a prestigious
Sportsmatch grant.
Roger
Grimshaw of SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd visited the Club on Saturday 24th
March to join in the celebrations and to hand over a cheque for
£1,000 to Club President, Sue Bayley, which will now be doubled
thanks to the grant from Sportsmatch.

More
than 40 buildings (a record for SMP) all successfully installed
in time for the Gold Cup Festival at the Cheltenham Racecourse.
Lounges for the heliport,
offices, cash offices, secure stores, sleeping accommodation, toilets,
shower blocks, technical control centres, detention units, evacuation
centres the list of uses is almost endless supplied in all shapes
and sizes, up to 60' in length.
SMP's success at the races
stands as testament to the size, quality and versatility of our

SMP prepare
for the Gold Cup |

It's
that time of year again.
Cheltenham Gold cup takes
months in the planning and work has started in earnest to make Gold
Cup week another international success. Long time, trusted supplier
SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd has been involved in the planning stages and
has already supplied 14 buildings with many more planned to go in
over the next few weeks.
SMP's on site knowledge,
flexibility and superior building fleet continues to make it the
first choice supplier for temporary offices and secure stores in
the build up and during Gold Cup Week.

Building
Solutions of Gloucester have started work on a prestigious new development
in Albert Road, near the historic Pump Rooms in Cheltenham. SMP
(Grimshaw) Ltd was chosen to supply all the site buildings from
toilet and welfare blocks right through to site and project management
offices.
Tricky site
conditions left little room for manouvere, the buildings having
to be threaded into position around mature, protected trees. Utilising
specialist lifting equipment and all the on site experience SMP
has developed over the last 25 years, installation was completed
with minimum disruption in less than a day.
The installation
highlights the importance of having not only the right buildings
but the right equipment and experience on site.

We've
always prided ourselves on our quality - nobody does more to keep
their buildings in tip top condition. Recently a toilet block was
returned from a site managed by EG Carters of Gloucester. Inside
we found a notice from Pete the site manager that best sums up what
we always aim to deliver. It said...
"This is probably
the best site toilet you have seen in your life. Please let's all
work together to and keep it clean and tidy..."
Thank you Pete. We're
glad you appreciated the hard work we always put into delivering
a quality product.

SMP performed
"beyond our expectations" |

...
The words of Rob Forty at AWBS Landscaping and Building Supplies
in Swindon after taking delivery of a 48' building to be used as
an office / showroom.
One
of the leading independant suppliers in the area, AWBS needed the
building completely refurbished internally to their own specification
and the exterior re painted to reflect their corporate colours.
With its own paint shop and team of specialist fitters SMP were
able to create the perfect working environment for AWBS.

We
don't make a drama out of a crisis |
|
On
September 4th a large local chemical fire made the national news.
100 firefighters and 20 fire engines were called to a major incident
near Andoversford. Two companies in particular, Biolab and Eagle
Line Travel suffered significant disruption and urgently needed
assistance.
Local
expert SMP has helped numerous companies over the last 25 years
through such emergencies and has developed a special emergency pack
to help take the drama out of the crisis. This no nonsense, practical
approach to support has seen both Biolab and Eagle Line Travel first
seek advice, then as a result chose SMP for temporary buildings
and accomodation.
Installations
began on September 7th only three days after the incident as SMP
understands the need to get business back to normal as quickly as
possible. Being local, having 25 years experience to offer and the
largest fleet of buildings to hire really does have its advantages.
